Tales from the Trunk #4

When you're a pow hungry prairie snowboarder you need to jump at opportunities.

Looking ahead in the forecast I could see incoming snow followed by a bluebird day at Marmot Basin. I rearranged my schedule and left after work to make the 4 hour drive to Jasper. Finding a nice low key area, I set up the back of my Ford Escape and hunkered down for the night. Limited traffic and light made for a cozy sleep for me and the pooch.

The next morning, we enjoyed a chill get up, and managed to fit in a quick trip to the bakery to pick up supplies, before heading up to shred. Opting to sleep in the car instead of having a super early departure and a 4 hour morning drive, gave me enough energy for 3 hikes up to Marmot Summit. I managed to track out the best pow runs of the day. After getting the powder therapy I needed, we loaded up and had a casual drive home.
